Albrecht Durer (German, 1471-1528): The Martyrdom of Saint Catherine of Alexandria. Original woodcut and gravure from an edition of 500, published by W. & G. Foyle, Ltd., London -250 in folio.
Albrecht Durer was a painter, printmaker, and theorist of the German Renaissance. Born in Nuremberg, Durer established his reputation and influence across Europe when he was still in his twenties due to his high-quality woodcut prints.
19.5 x 13.5 inches paper; 15.5 x 11 inches plate.
Collection of Thomas Craig family, USA; acquired in a private sale 2005, collection of a California Gentleman.
Very good condition with light handling marks in margins; toning throughout.Condition
