Founded 1837. Tiffany and Co., also known as Tiffany’s, specializes in specialty retail and luxury jewelry. The American luxury retailer is popular for selling diamond and sterling silver jewelry but also deals in crystal, stationery, fragrances, watches, personal accessories, and leather goods. Tiffany operates over 320 stores internationally, excluding the sale through direct-mail and corporate merchandising.

Jeweler Charles Lewis Tiffany founded the company in 1837. His son, Louis Comfort Tiffany, and his artistic direction played an influential role in making the brand famous. With “Blue Book,” Tiffany circulated its first-ever mail order catalog. The book was published in the US in 1845. The Great Seal of the United States seen on the dollar bill was redesigned by Tiffany & Company.
