Denmark, 1872. Little did Fritz Hansen knew that he was going to transform the furniture industry of Denmark in 1872 when he went to Copenhagen to register his company. Born in the village of Nakskov, Hansen had worked with various world-class artists of the furniture-making industry before the company’s initiation. He had worked with  Arne Jacobsen in a collaboration to create the classic yet modern-looking Ant chairs. Although Jacobsen is credited for the design and thought process, Hansen found his inspiration with such collaborations.
