American, 1945. Born in Indiana in 1945, Charles Hollis Jones started his work when he found his way into a position at a small furniture manufacturer at the young age of 16 while traveling to Los Angeles. He went on to become the head designer after working 6 months at Hudson-Rissman, a prominent furniture and accessory showroom. He then created his first acrylic and metal furniture with hidden joints, which later became his hallmark. After 7 years, Charles resigned from Hudson-Rissman and started his own company CHJ designs. Art experts and celebrities have praised his designs and creations ever since.
One of his greatest worlds is the wisteria chair. It was produced when Charles was commissioned to create a writing chair that is comfy and modern by several Hollywood celebrities. In the 1970s, Charles created his masterpiece, Edison Lamp. His works also include a one-of-a-kind steel and lucite lamp to display the workings of Thomas Edison's innovative technology. It used real Thomas Edison bulbs for which he achieved a special honor from the government in Germany.
He is involved in a number of charities and frequently creates artwork for organizations, such as the artwork for the Golden Heart Award 2008 in honor of Clancy Imislund.
