Russian, 1891-1956. One of the founders of the Constructivist movement, Alexander Rodchenko worked in a variety of mediums throughout his career from painting and sculpture to photography and graphic design. He was one of the first to produce minimalist style monochrome paintings which he proclaimed was the end of the medium. Rodchenko turned his focus to the Productivist movement which brought art into daily life and in some cases, promote political ideals through propaganda posters.
