Alexander Astahov

Russian, born 1955. Alexander Astahov is an artist famous for his bright surrealist artworks. Astahov is also well-known for his trademark butterfly, which is part of Astahov’s almost every artwork. Born in 1955 in Petropavlovsk in Russia, Astahov pursued arts from the High School of Arts located in Oryol during the span of 1972 to 1977. The artist later went on to study at the Moscow Surikov High Art Institute and completed his post-graduation there. The artist also worked at the Moscow Surikov High Art Institute. He started working at the Bryansk School of Painting in 1982 as an art instructor. Here he started concentrating on graphic arts. Alexander Astahov became part of the graphical art unit of the Artist Union List of Russia in 1995.
