Auction Description

TavernTrove Thursday Night Beer Label Auction 2 by TavernTrove
As a mother's smile is to a feeding infant, the beer label is the focus of product imprinting. Whether beautiful or ugly, the beer-drinker has only one emotion for his preferred brand's label, and that is Love. Throughout history, the beer consumer has had an intimate connection with the beer label. Beer time is often a time of introspection, and the beer label provides easy distraction. He rolls the cold bottle in his hands. He studies the label, counting the famous words (33 for Rolling Rock, 35 for Budweiser...). He may idly pick at the label. And every once and a while, if he is so moved, he will gingerly remove the label and save it in a book of memories. He might even write to the brewer to request a pristine example. The items in this auction are survivors of these early beer drinkers' labors. Who will be the next conservator of these ephemeral artifacts? Perhaps, gentle reader, it will be you. Read more
