The central figure of the The Grateful Dead, Jerry Garcia was an accomplished artist as well as a musician. A visual artist from childhood, Jerry in his youth thought of himself as “an artist who played music.” Throughout the years of his prodigious musical output he continued drawing and painting to further express his artistic creativity.
