The Newport Art Museum has recently reopened its doors to the public after a temporary closure due to the coronavirus crisis. Observing the delight of visitors as they wander our galleries and young students as they enjoy their arts camp projects, it is more apparent than ever that the arts are essential to our wellbeing.
Our 2020 Benefit Art Auction sales are intended to support the Museum and the contributing artists, many of whom have been denied exhibition openings, gallery sales, and teaching posts as a result of postponements and temporary closures. Your participation in this Auction will ensure our Museum will continue to build and care for its collection, exhibit a diversity of artists, provide arts education in our school and out in the community, and preserve our historically significant buildings.
Our Silent Auction begins on August 8 and runs through August 29, 2020. Established artists have donated exceptional artworks, including paintings, prints, and photographs. On August 22, the Newport Art Museum’s Benefit Virtual Live Auction will feature a selection of artworks by artists whose work is included in major public and private collections around the world.
Thank you for bidding high and often! You have a unique opportunity to add significant art to your collection and help ensure the Newport Art Museum and participating Auction Artists continue to thrive.
