Your bid constitutes a legally binding contract. By bidding with Jeffrey S. Evans & Associates (hereafter JSE&A) either directly or through another online auction provider (e.g. Bid Square), you are agreeing to abide by all associated auction terms and conditions.
Bidder approval is at the sole discretion of JSE&A.
The auctioneer reserves the right to reopen bidding on a sold lot (under extreme circumstances only) and is the sole determinant concerning all bid disputes and the final authority in regard to all auction terms and conditions.
Lots won by bidding directly with JSE&A are subject to a 17% buyer's premium (BP), discounted to 15% for payment by cash, check or money order. Lots won through the Live Auctioneers or Bidsquare internet bidding platform (LIVE and absentee bids) are subject to a flat 20% BP, which is NOT eligible for discount.
Unless exempted by law, all purchases are subject to a 5.3% VA state sales tax (this is also applicable to out-of-state buyers who pick up their purchases in VA).
PAYMENT FOR LOTS WON IN PERSON IS DUE ON THE DATE OF SALE unless other arrangements have been pre-approved (before the auction) by an authorized representative of JSE&A.
PAYMENT FOR LOTS WON AS AN ABSENTEE, PHONE, LIVEAUCTIONEERS OR BIDSQUARE BIDDER IS DUE WITHIN 5 DAYS OF NOTIFICATION OF WINNING BID(S). (Applicable shipping costs are paid separately after packing is completed.)
We can pack and ship most items with the exception of large objects (e.g. furniture). We pack and ship upon request and in order of request. Actual shipping charges can only be determined after packing is completed. Unless you are an established customer with our firm, lots must be paid in full before we pack for shipping.
Additional conditions of sale apply as noted on our website and/or as announced by the auctioneer prior to the auction.
Our auction terms and conditions, as well as the respective rights and obligations hereunder, shall be governed by and construed and enforced in accordance with the laws of the Commonwealth of Virginia. The purchaser shall be deemed to have consented to the jurisdiction of the state courts of, and the federal courts sitting in, the Commonwealth of Virginia.
