A C R O T E R I O N: 'The Highest Ornament' ~ The word 'acroterion' is an ancient architectural term originally used by the Greeks, and adopted by the Romans as 'acroterium', which literally is the plinth and ornament on the apex or ends of a pediment, from the Greek akrōtḗrion (ἀκρωτήριον) meaning ‘summit', or 'extremity’.
A C R O T E R I O N, the gallery, is by appointment in the historic Hudson Valley of New York specializing in exceptional fine and decorative art from eastern to western, ancient to current, with a focus on the timeless and uncommon. The curated inventory is chosen by Randal Dawkins, the founder and owner, with a discernment for authenticity and quality. Having a passion for fine objects and design from an early age, Mr. Dawkins graduated in 2004 from Sotheby’s Institute of Art, London, with a Master’s Degree in Fine & Decorative Art.

Shipping Info
A C R O T E R I O N will assist buyer with shipping arrangements to best ability. In-house packing not available, but delivery and drop-off to Albany, NY FedEx pack and ship location offered at no charge for smaller items. Buyer is free to use shipper of their choice and dealer will assist with shipper recommendations if needed. International buyers are responsible for their own shipping arrangements. Buyer responsible for all shipping costs and will pay shipper directly.

Items may be viewed in person at stated address by appointment ONLY. Items unsold will revert to original retail pricing after end of sale and sale prices will not be honored. Sale pricing exclusive to Bidsquare and inapplicable on other merchant platforms. No buyer's premium. NY state taxes will automatically be added to all NY resident invoices. Taxes will be removed from invoices for tax-exempt buyers once tax form has been received. International buyers are responsible for all import/export customs duties and taxes and an invoice stating actual purchase price will accompany all purchases. All payments must be made in US dollars within 7 days. All credit cards accepted with a 3% surcharge added to final purchase price by bank processor. Paypal payments accepted with 3% added to final purchase price. Money orders and business or personal checks accepted and purchases will be released once cleared.
