Jul 10,2023 | 12:35 EDT By Rivich Auction

Chicago, IL- In the spirit of summer, Rivich Auction will be presenting an auction of Americana
lover’s dreams. ‘How To Make It In America: Americana & More’ will highlight the best of old
Americana, Southwestern, Native American, and contemporary American history and design.
This auction will feature items such as antique bronzes of mountain men, traditional
Southwestern jewelry, authentic 1920s Ford Model Ts, classic American design pieces, and
memorabilia from the 1992 U.S. Men’s Olympic Basketball Dream Team.

With multiple lots dedicated specifically to more recent American sports, RA is highlighting the
U.S. Men’s Olympic Basketball 1992 Dream Team. One featured lot in this auction, Lot 104, is
signed by the Dream Team and is estimated at $1,000-$40,000. Including signatures by Michael
Jordan, Scottie Pippen, Larry Bird, Magic Johnson, David Robinson, Patrick Ewing, Charles
Barkley and many others. Including a total of 12 names, this autographed ball highlights a
turning point in American history, pride, and love of the game.

For a trip back in time, RA is showcasing five vintage vehicles with production dates spanning
from 1921 to 1935. A 1925 Model T tow truck, Lot 127, was originally made for use by Polarine,
a branch of the Standard Oil company. Made popular for its frost and carbon-proof oil, Polarine
was used and sold by the Standard Oil company to ensure a smooth ride on vintage vehicles.

Lot 128, a 1922 Ford Model T Standard Oil service truck, is incredibly rare and was used as a
service vehicle for the Standard Oil Company. This vehicle is in great running and working
order, barely ever used after its acquisition by the City of Whiting. With a traditional, restored
inner and outer body, this Model T is sure to catch your eye.

Also originally commissioned for the Polarine subsect of the Standard Oil company of Indiana,
Lot 129 is an original 1924 Ford Model T lubricating oil tanker. Fully equipped with freshly
restored authentic dark wood and black accents, this tanker is another amazing piece of history,
rarely even seen in museums or private collections.

Lot 131, a striking red 1935 Ford Model 18 Standard Oil tanker is another rare find. Originally
used for the transportation for the Standard Oil company of Indiana and specifically marked for
Red Crown gasoline, this vehicle is native to the Midwest states of the U.S. As only a handful of
Red Crown gasoline stations still stand today, this vehicle is a true piece of American history.

Specifically acquired by the city of Whiting, Indiana, these vehicles showcase the importance of
the oil industry to this small Northwest Indiana city. Home to Whiting Refinery, the largest oil
refinery in the Midwest, Whiting provided a haven in the early 1920s to almost 10,000 new
residents. Drawn to the area by the opportunities provided by the newly built Whiting Standard
Oil refinery, these individuals grew a lakeside town into a bustling, industrious city. All of these
vehicles have been fully restored on the inner and outer bodies and are in great working
condition. Each of these vehicles carry an estimate of $10,000 to $40,000.

With this collection of pure American spirit and remembrance, RA perfectly captures the feeling
of an American summer. Rivich Auction is open and available for in-person previews of these
items, please call (773) 683-4219 to schedule an appointment. Bidding is open NOW and this
auction will go LIVE on July 16th at 10am CST. Everyone is welcome to bid!
