Jackson Hole Fall Arts Festival - The Best Time to Purchase Art in the West

JACKSON, WY – The internationally-recognized Jackson Hole Fall Arts Festival, September 8- 19, 2021, will bring in the best Western, wildlife, and landscape artists in the region.

Most events are scheduled to continue both in-person and online, attracting buyers and collectors to Jackson and showcasing Jackson’s incredible talent worldwide. All in-person events will follow Town mandates and Public Health guidelines.

One of the most highly-anticipated live art events in the nation, The Jackson Hole QuickDraw will take place on September 18, 2021 on Town Square and online via bidding platform, Bidsquare. 40 artists have committed to participate in the 2021 Jackson Hole QuickDraw to create works of fine art live in front of spectators. The event is unique in its intimacy between artist and buyer, providing spectators with an inside look into each artists’ creative process. QuickDraw attendees can expect favorites who have been participating in the event for years - like Lyn St. Clair, Amy Ringholz, and Rip & Allison Caswell - alongside newcomers - like Colt Idol, Amber Blazina, and Gleb Goloubetski.

Lot 30, Gary Lynn Roberts, The Wort Hotel - Estimate $50,000 - $100,000

Auctioning at lot 30 in the QuickDraw will be the Fall Arts Festival featured piece, an incredible 64x48 oil on canvas titled ‘The Wort Hotel’. Produced by artist Gary Lynn Roberts of West Lives On Gallery, Roberts claims this to be his best work yet. “It is spectacular to see the history of Jackson coming to life through this original work of art and it will be incredible to see it go to live auction across the street from its source of inspiration, The Wort Hotel,” says Director of Events, Britney Magleby.

Destination art & cultural experiences that were sorely missed in 2020, including Western Design Conference and Showcase of Homes also plan to make a return to in-person audiences for 2021. Masks will be required when indoors for these events, and extra precautions will be taken to keep attendees safe, but both event producers are looking forward to the artist & spectator interactions. Tickets are currently available for both of these highly-anticipated events.

Western Visions Show & Sale at The National Museum of Wildlife Art will take place in hybrid form on September 16. The Jackson Hole Art Auction, internationally-recognized for their high caliber of artwork, will occur on September 18 with bidding available in-person, online, and over the phone.

Local galleries, like Mountain Trails, Gallery Wild, New West Fine Art, West Lives On, and others, will participate in gallery walks, artist receptions, and meet & greets throughout the festival. While some galleries may be restricting capacity and requiring additional safety measures, all participating galleries are looking forward to opening their doors to buyers and collectors. Interactions between artists, spectators, and buyers are some of the most unique moments of the festival, creating personal experiences and furthering the conversation of art in the Valley.

“It’s hard to put into words what Fall Arts Festival means to Jackson’s art community. The festival allows for artists to showcase new work and connect one-on-one with their Jackson, WY audience. It also challenges each artist to innovate the methodologies they use and dialogues they strive to create with their viewers by working alongside other world-class artists,” commented Lanier Mason, Fall Arts Festival Communications Coordinator. “Even in this trying time, it’s important that the festival continues,” added Director of Events, Britney Magleby.
