Fall Arts Festival Announces Artist Line Up Best of Western and Wildlife Art to Show in Jackson, Sep 9-20

JACKSON, WY – The 36th-annual Fall Arts Festival returns to its trusted roots amid the pandemic – highlighting the best works from the best artists in Jackson's world-class galleries. On Friday, The Jackson Hole Chamber of Commerce released the 2020 Fall Arts Festival gallery shows and highly-anticipated QuickDraw artists.

Nationally and internationally-recognized artists will be featured throughout Jackson’s galleries in exhibits and curated shows and sales during the 36th annual Fall Arts Festival. Many locally- represented artists also plan to visit Jackson during the festival, appearing at receptions, meet- and-greets, and live studios. "Jackson is an arts destination unique in many ways. Here, you'll find Kathryn Turner depicting the famous landscapes seen from her family's ranch, and Mark Keathley painting Western images that are deeply rooted in Wyoming's culture and history," says Britney Magleby, Director of Special Events. "In my opinion, Jackson's always been a must-know destination for arts & culture. But I think even more people will see that after this year's festival."

The Fall Arts Festival, September 9-20, 2020, is an opportunity for art-lovers to collect from returning artists they know and love and scout new and upcoming artists just emerging onto the scene. Many Jackson galleries will use this opportunity to showcase their best collections in- person and online.

"Changes in the schedule of events, originally due to COVID, can be great for the festival in some ways," a local gallery owner comments. "The focus this year will be on the buying and collecting of incredible works of art while educating the world about Jackson's art scene and artists."

One of the most highly-anticipated events of the festival is the QuickDraw and Auction on September 19 from 8 am – 12 pm MST. The QuickDraw is an iconic event showcasing Jackson's elite composing masterpieces in as little as 90-minutes. On one corner, you have Lyn St. Clair, who paints directly from her personal experiences with nature and wildlife. On another, Caleb Meyer, an up and coming artist whose work with oil on canvas is something to watch. And less than 100 yards away, Bryce Pettit, a bronze sculptor who encompasses wildlife through storytelling in his creations. For the first time in festival history, this event will be live-streamed during the creation process and open to online bidders through Bidsquare.

Amy Ringholz, an artist and longtime QuickDraw participator, shares about the incredible artist community in the Jackson Hole QuickDraw. "It’s a great time to start collecting or getting involved in art and the art community, especially here in Jackson." Though Ringholz will be busy with her own large, contemporary wildlife piece that she’s become known for during the QuickDraw, she also looks forward to seeing what the other artists create. “I’m excited to see Lyn St. Clair’s art this year.”

QuickDraw pieces can be as affordable as $1,500 and as sought-after as $15,000. The featured artwork auctions much higher, reaching bids up to $65,000 in 2019, a record-setting anniversary year.
