TOWSON, MD — June 11, 2019 – Baltimore-based Auctioneer Alex Cooper is pleased to announce the upcoming auction of a stunning collection of art from Baltimore collector, James H. Williams. James recently retired from his role at “Baltimore OUTLoud” Magazine, an “Independent Voice for the LGBTQ Communities of the Mid-Atlantic Region.” In addition to publisher, he is well known as a labor organizer, AIDS advocate, gay activist and art collector.

The collection encompasses a variety of works by many notable artists including Tom Bianchi, Andrew Dunbar, Frank Yamrus and Vernon Lee Reynolds. The collection also includes a leather piano bench autographed by Elton John which was purchased at an AIDS fundraising event.
Alex Cooper will be hosting a two-day Auction which will be live on Thursday, June 27th and online only on Friday, June 28th. In addition to the Williams collection, the auctions feature an expansive collection of modern and contemporary art, fine jewelry, sterling silver, currency, fine rugs, period, mid-century modern, quality reproduction and period furniture, and decorative arts.
