Day One is led by 80+ lots of handwoven rugs, many from the Ali Amiri estate (Persian House of Imports, Ann Arbor), spanning Persian, Turkish, Caucasian, Chinese, and Indo-Persian examples. Additional highlights include a 10.12ct Brazilian emerald ring, a Breitling Emergency watch, Guggenheim-attributed Venetian bronze torchères with museum provenance, Russian silver, and Detroit architectural elements from Michigan Central Station, J.L. Hudson’s, the Fisher Mansion, and the Book-Cadillac Hotel.
Day Two is led by fine art and prints, highlighted by a circa-1934 William James Glackens landscape and an exceptionally rare Audubon Birds of America “Ivory-billed Woodpecker” (Havell edition). Additional highlights include a Rembrandt etching, a Edouard Léon Cortès Paris scene, John Goodison oil painting, and museum deaccessions from the Grand Rapids Art Museum. A large selection of Edgar Louis Yaeger paintings, Carpeaux sculpture, and Saarinen/Knoll furniture round out the session.
